| The Laboratory for Molecular Scale Engineering (LMSE)
is a inter- |
| disciplinary research group based in Electrical & Computer Engineering
|
| at University of Wisconsin-Madison. The long term goal of the LMSE |
| is to develop the tools and methods in all areas of nanotechnology, |
| combining physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering. |
| The combination of the different fields will lead us to an entirely new |
| type of nanoscale mechanism of the devices. |
| Our current key topics are electro-mechanical structure
on the micro- |
| and nanoscale (NEMS & MEMS), single elctron, single spin circuits |
| and devices, and information processing in quantum and bio- |
| functionalized circuits. It is the challenge of our group to bring |
| together different disciplines for creating a unique environment in |
| which new ideas can be prototyped and where the next generations |
| of engineerings learn to integrate the world on the nanoscale with |
| devices. |
