The Laboratory for Molecular Scale Engineering (LMSE) is a inter-
disciplinary research group based in Electrical & Computer Engineering
at University of Wisconsin-Madison. The long term goal of the LMSE
is to develop the tools and methods in all areas of nanotechnology,
combining physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering.
The combination of the different fields will lead us to an entirely new
type of nanoscale mechanism of the devices.
Our current key topics are electro-mechanical structure on the micro-
and nanoscale (NEMS & MEMS), single elctron, single spin circuits
and devices, and information processing in quantum and bio-
functionalized circuits. It is the challenge of our group to bring
together different disciplines for creating a unique environment in
which new ideas can be prototyped and where the next generations
of engineerings learn to integrate the world on the nanoscale with
devices.
